Ptolemy's contributions to the geometry of binocular vision

Abstract. Ptolemy's Optics which was written in about the year 150 AD contains an account of the geometry of binocular vision which has been almost totally neglected in the vision literature. An English translation of the relevant passages from the Latin text in Lejeune (1956) is presented together with commentaries and a brief introduction.
