Autokinesis and sight of the body

Abstract. It is not known how the visual and kinaesthetic worlds are kept congruent, but it seems very plausible that the sight of the body parts provides cross-calibration. If this is true, then the longer a subject has been denied sight of any part of his body, the less stable should be his visual direction system, and hence the shorter his autokinetic latency.
