Real and apparent visual movement: evidence for a unitary mechanism

J L Clatworthy, J P Frisby

Received 18 July 1973

A marked adaptation carry-over effect was observed for which no explanation could be found other than that the same movement-detecting mechanism mediates both real and apparent movement phenomena.
